Qcells Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Manufacturing Facility

The new facility assembles high performance and high quality photovoltaic modules to serve customers in the U.S.

The ceremony featured an official ribbon-cutting with opening remarks and brief speeches by some members of the Qcells team as well as national, local and regional leaders. Attendees were also treated to lunch and tours of the new facility as a part of the ceremony.

“Qcells believes in the U.S. market and is dedicated to increasing the strength of American solar manufacturing here in Georgia, for the benefit of our customers around the country. With the capacity of this massive facility at work in the Southeast, Georgia will continue growing in its standing as a national solar leader while adding hundreds of highly skilled manufacturing jobs,” said Hee Cheul (Charles) Kim, CEO, Qcells.

Officials cut the ribbon on the new Qcells facility, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

“This vibrant facility marks major growth for the U.S. solar industry and overall solar adoption, and it also represents our investment in a cleaner, sustainable future for our planet,” he added.

Gray engineered, designed and constructed the more than 300,000 s.f. facility in just nine months. Known as the largest solar module plant in the Western Hemisphere, the plant boasts an annual production capacity of 1.7 gigawatts, an amount nearly equivalent to the peak output of Hoover Dam.
