Sephora Celebrates California Grand Opening

Sephora celebrated the grand opening of their new store inside J.C. Penney at the Montclair Plaza in California on May 3, 2013. The 2,550 s.f. retail facility construction project was built by Gray’s West Region office. This facility marks the 18^th Sephora store that the West region office has completed inside of a J.C. Penney.

Sephora is a visionary beauty-retail concept founded in France by Dominique Mandonnaud in 1970. Sephora’s unique, open-sell environment features an ever-increasing amount of classic and emerging brands across a broad range of product categories including skincare, color, fragrance, body, smilecare, and haircare, in addition to Sephora’s own private label.

Sephora began opening stores inside J.C. Penney in October 2006. Today, there are Sephora locations in J.C. Penney stores nationwide. Each Sephora is located in the center of the J.C. Penney store. The stores are smaller than a standard Sephora store but feature the same signature Sephora look and beauty offering.
