Gray Ranks No. 1 in Food & Beverage for Third Consecutive Year

Gray’s first-place finish in Engineering News-Record’s Top Contractor rankings each of the last three years reflects the company’s deep experience and strong relationships in the market.

For the third year in a row, Engineering News-Record has recognized Gray as the top firm for the food & beverage industry!

The honor comes with the latest release of ENR’s Top Contractors Sourcebook. Gray, a recognized leader offering engineering, design, construction, and operational improvements for more than 6 decades, has built upon its successes each of the past three years, executing projects of increasing complexity at an ever-growing scale. In addition to the top spot in Food & Beverage, Gray achieved high rankings for several key markets:

  • No. 5 for Automotive Plants
  • No. 10 for Manufacturing
  • No. 15 for Data Centers
"Gray's success in the food & beverage market is a direct reflection of our desire to serve the manufacturers of the world. From sustainable design and engineering to exceptional construction and operational improvements, we deliver what our customers need for long-term success."
Stephen Gray, President & Chief Executive Officer, Gray, Inc.

The company also maintained a strong presence in the Midwest and Southeast regions, ranking No. 1 in Industrial Process and No. 2 in Design-Build Construction, respectively.

The recognition doesn’t end there. Typically heralded for its capabilities as a general contractor, Gray also brought home multiple design rankings—a first for the company.

  • No. 3 in Food & Beverage design
  • No. 14 in Industrial Process design

The Numbers Don’t Lie

The rankings from ENR are based on revenue in each surveyed segment. Gray earned the top spot in Food & Beverage after executing projects totaling more than $1.5 billion. Over the past 25 years, Gray has completed more than 120 projects for food & beverage processors.

Gray also topped $1 billion each in the Automotive and Manufacturing markets—figures that strongly underscore the company’s leading role in designing and building superior industrial facilities for its global base of customers.

The Proof Is in the Projects

Gray’s top honors for the food & beverage industry are anchored by a slate of award-winning, innovative projects:

“Excellent projects come down to excellent relationships,” says Brett Goode, Executive Vice President, Food & Beverage Market, Gray. “Our customers put their trust in Gray because they know that our core values apply equally to them and drive every decision we make.”
