Detailed Design Engineering.

 

 

Once funded, capital projects in food and beverage processing and packaging systems begin to get real. The heartbeat of this phase is multiple Design Reviews led by our Project Manager, which fosters collaborative team creativity which drives down risk while managing costs. Here we produce P&IDs, capture Value Engineering ideas, review final mass flow calculations and, in many cases, utilize simulation software. Blending our knowledge of process and packaging needs and technology, we develop detailed equipment specifications. To ensure performance, we write the equipment performance expectations for efficiency, quality, and throughput.

 

Concurrently, using 2D and 3D CAD modeling, multiple layout iterations occur to optimize  people flow and material flow. We then generate detailed bid packages for mechanical, electrical and facility work to be performed for installation. We lead contractor and vendor walk-throughs and answer their questions. Extensive bid analysis is completed. A highly-detailed Level 3 Schedule is generated. Issue for Construction (IFC) packages are then created.

 

 

A solid narrative is produced for Controls and Automation. If requested, we will witness and document Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) on equipment at vendor manufacturing sites. We can assist with or provide full procurement services as well as services to manage the project budget.
