Cooking for a Cause
AD Process Equipment continues to support Will County Children’s Advocacy Center, a child-focused, coordinated response center that provides hope, healing, and justice for children who have endured severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence. In October, team members participated in the Will County CAC’s annual “Men Who Cook” fundraiser event, where 40 teams prepared food for 800+ guests to compete for the best appetizer, entree, or dessert.
When brainstorming ideas of what food to serve, our team found inspiration from Gray, who has a long-standing tradition of smoking meat for the annual Gray Family Weekend tailgating event. Team members at AD Process Equipment custom designed and fabricated a smoker in-house to use at the event. The smoker is crafted entirely with stainless steel, along with a reverse flow design and built-in warming box. There is 4,200 square inches of cooking surfaces and weighs almost 2,000 lbs.
“Although we didn’t win ‘best entree’ at the “Men Who Cook” event this year, we had the coolest smoker, received a lot of compliments on our pulled pork, and will be back next yer to try and win the title!” said Neil O’Mara, Business Unit Director at AD Process Equipment.
