Our Story
Willett Engineering Company was founded in 1990 on the principles of quality engineering and respect for clients. Our commitment to personal attention and responsiveness has allowed us to cultivate many longstanding client relationships over the years.
Over the years WEC has grown into a diverse professional firm with extensive experience in a broad range of project types and the full spectrum of building materials. In addition to our main office in the metro Atlanta area, we also have a satellite office in Port St. Joe.

WEC provided structural design for this 350,000-sf, vertically integrated manufacturing and distribution facility. The structural design includes a large office mezzanine, anodizer room, clean rooms, truck canopy, and fuel storage area.

Historic Ford Auditorium
Berry College, Rome, Georgia
Structural Renovation & Historic Preservation
WEC researched this 1928 auditorium’s original blueprints and construction materials in order to create 3D models of the original roof trusses. Based on these models, WEC created a framing plan to install a new, state-of-the-art acoustic ceiling.

What You’ll Work On
You’ll have opportunities to design with a wide range of building materials for diverse projects including:

The Role
We’re seeking structural engineers at multiple experience levels to join our growing team. You’ll support and/or manage projects including:
- New building designs
- Analysis and renovation of existing structures
- Construction administration
- Adaptive re-use assessment
All positions at Willett Engineering are client-facing, putting you at the center of project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in structural analysis, material design, and technical drafting
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineers throughout project lifecycle
- Determine design criteria using relevant codes and standards
- Create and analyze models and calculations for various structural elements and systems
- Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
- Conduct field inspections and produce inspection reports
- Support team members as needed to meet client expectations
For Advanced Engineers:
- Manage projects independently from planning to completion
- Mentor and guide team members toward company goals
- Develop and maintain client relationships
Qualifications
All Candidates:
- BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Experience with structural design and analysis
- Proficiency with industry software (i.e. Revit, Enercalc, RISA)
- Ability to interpret building codes, technical procedures, and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong collaborative abilities
Entry Level:
- Academic background in structural engineering
- Internship or co-op experience preferred
Intermediate Level (3+ years):
- Proficiency in structural analysis
- Experience with construction support design and field inspection
Advanced Level (7+ years):
- SE license preferred
- Extensive relevant design experience
